Cystitis/Pregnancy/Heart Condition – Reflexology “I first started going to Brian in my 5th month of pregnancy. Up until then I had been plagued by recurrent cystitis, not having been free of it for more than 7 – 10 days at a time, and often having to sleep on the bathroom floor in order to be near enough to the toilet! Despite doing ‘all the right things’, such as drinking plenty of water, drinking cranberry juice etc., I still ended up having to have a course of antibiotics. Since having regular appointments with Brian however, I didn’t have a single episode, and neither did I have a recurrence of the thrush I had previously had. I had a difficult pregnancy, with problems with my heart rhythm, but with Reflexology from Brian, I was able to reduce my dose of beta-blockers to a quarter of the prescribed dose. As important as all the above, though, was the feeling of relaxation, and well-being I got from the sessions, and early indication of any problems I was not yet aware of e.g. lower back problems. Unfortunately, as I had to be induced in hospital in Manchester, I was unable to experience reflexology in labour. Anxiety/Digestive Problems/Headaches/Fatigue/Stress - Reflexology I have been treated by Mr. Jeffery for the past eighteen months after suffering from anxiety, stomach/digestion problems, headaches, fatigue and stress. I had almost given up hope after visiting my doctors in excess of thirty times, who prescribed various different drugs, none of which helped me, and in some cases made me feel even worse. At the age of 45 I certainly did not expect to be in the position of having my fourth child nineteen years after having my third. Brian Jeffery treated me pre-conception, during the first few days, weeks and months on a regular weekly basis all with no adverse affects whatsoever; and on the 19th October 2003 (the expected delivery date), I gave birth to a very healthy 7lb 6oz baby daughter. Before I go any further, I feel it right and proper to mention that Brian is in fact my partner and the father of Georgina. I had a trouble free pregnancy no morning sickness, no high blood pressure, yes I had swollen ankles but that was probably due to the fact that I worked up to five weeks before the birth, walking to and from work during the hot summer months. On the 18th October I went into labour and Brian gave me reflexology with each contraction as pain relief. (He had attended a course on “Pre-Conception, Pregnancy and Childbirth the very same day!!) This worked extremely well and I only required pain relief of gas/air during the final half hour of my labour. Georgina is now a healthy two and a half year old, who herself is treated with reflexology for teething pain; she also benefits from reflexology when she has not had a bowel motion (this usually takes effect within twenty minutes) she is most receptive to it - as of course, she was used to it whilst in the womb! I have always had an interest in alternative therapies but I have always been quite sceptical in regards to the effectiveness of alternative medicine especially reflexology until Brian started treating me. I have had repetitive bouts of anxiety and depression throughout my life. I had been prescribed different drugs and had numerous counselling and psychological sessions with a wide range of mental health professionals with little or no success. My first session with Brian was excellent and I felt the benefits straight away, I felt calm and my mind felt at peace.
